WHAT IS AN ESPRIT? Esprits are a peaceful mammalian fae species that have a deep rooted connection to the spirits of nature and the spirits of the dead. They are seers and mediums for what others cannot see on the material plane. They are most easily distinguished by their unusual anatomy of multiple eyes, ears, and arms. An Esprit's body consists of a long torso with two ribcages and (commonly) two sets of breasts. Their stomach and chest are framed by thicker fur that covers their arms, legs, sides, and back. Even though Esprits have pawed feet and tails, they would not be considered an anthropomorphic species for they have human faces and do not have muzzles. In this way Esprits may be more likened to a faun in appearance than something such as a werewolf. More about an Esprit's appearance can be found in greater detail below, illustrated by more in depth descriptions of their unique traits. SOCIETY Esprits have different sub-types to make up the social roles in their group. A community of Esprits is called a "court". There are usually up to eight Esprits in one community outside of a major fae city dwelling. These courts do have a hint of a hierarchy to them. There is an alpha "family” that the Esprits of the court will treat as the leaders of the community. It is MOST COMMON for the chosen alphas of a group to be one King and one Queen. |
